Linsen Nambi Bunker vessels have an MFO carrying capacity of R3000 MT – MFO and 600 MT – MGO per barge. The Queen Mary is the largest passenger vessel in the world and her Bunker Fuel requirements often require the services of both vessels.
In order to ensure that the vessel stays or her global schedule, both The Fumana and Southern Venture have on occasions berth concurrently alongside the Queen Mary in preparation for speedy changeover and a quick turnaround.
The Queen Mary is restricted to daylight berthing and sailing when in Durban and as a result it is critical that barges service the vessel as efficiently as possible. Barge pump rates are in excess of 700 MT/ Hr and the Linsen Nambi vessels are best equipped to handle large stems.
Company and in particular the Masters have received commendations from the Officers aboard the Queen Mary 2 for the professionalism and efficiency shown during delivery operations.
