Linsen Nambi was created in 2012, however the inspiration for the company started in 1996. The owners, Thuso Mhlambi and Durand Naidoo grew up together and from a young age planned to open a company which would improve and de-racialise the lives of ordinary South Africans, to eventually become a globally recognised company.

DURAND NAIDOO (FICS)
Chief Executive Officer
Durand Naidoo has over 20 years’ experience in the Maritime Industry. His qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration from Gordon’s Institute of Business (GIBS), a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a Maritime Economics qualification. He is a Professionally Qualified Shipbroker with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) and has a Diploma in Marine Surveying from Lloyds of London. Durand is the youngest Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers South African Chapter (ICSSA) and is the current Chairman of ICSSA
THUSO MHLAMBI
Chief Financial Officer
Thuso Mhlambi has over 15 years’ experience as an accountant. His qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration from Gordon’s Institute of Business (GIBS), a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree. He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of South Africa (ABASA) and a member of the CFO Alliance of South Africa.
KHUMO NTLHA
Social, Ethics, Transformation and Sustainability Director
Khumo was born in Soweto in 1961, has worked as an anti- apartheid activist, a community development practitioner, currently she is a sought after speaker on the issue of diversity and is the CEO of Women in Oil and Energy South Africa (WOESA). She serves on several boards, a number of Trusts, including the African Minerals and Energy Foundation. Khumo has been married for 34 years and has two children.
GAVIN NAIDOO
Bunker Business Manager
Gavin Naidoo has over 20 years industry experience and has been with the company for 14 years. His qualifications include an MBA degree, a BBA degree, SHEQ and Risk Management qualifications and he is currently a Doctoral candidate. He ensures that the crew’s SAMSA and IMO certifications are maintained. He is responsible for ensuring crew training and development is completed efficiently. He is also responsible for ensuring that the vessel is operated safely by a suitably manned, qualified crew, who are able to fulfil the customer’s commercial requirements.
VANESSA NAIDOO
Finance and Administration Manager
Vanessa Naidoo over 10 years industry experience. Her qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Vanessa’s responsibilities include overseeing the day to day financial and administration activities of the business.
DIRK BLACK
Fleet Superintendent
Dirk joined the company in 2011 as Barge master on the Southern Valour in Cape Town. He served 13 years as master and has since joined the management team as Fleet Superintendent. He has a national diploma in maritime studies and served as deck officer in the container shipping industry for 9 years. In this time, he travelled extensively and built up a wealth of experience while sailing around the world.
KURT THEUNIS
HSE Manager
Kurt Theunis has 10 years of industry experience and worked his way up the ranks from a Training Deck rating to a Master before being promoted to HSE Manager. Kurt holds a Master Port Operations ticket and various SHEQ and Risk Management qualifications. He is responsible for reviewing the vessel’s safety protocols and the vessel’s safety management system and assists with maintaining the vessels’ SAMSA and Class certifications.
